What is the difference between regular rTMS and accelerated or iTBS (theta burst)
OCD can be stubborn...
TMS protocol for obsessive compulsive disorder can help.
At Psychiatric Care Florida, we are excited to offer the ONE-Day TMS protocol for treatment resistant depression, an innovative treatment designed to make depression care more effective and convenient.
Instead of attending daily sessions for weeks, this protocol delivers the entire course of TMS in just one day. Over the span of about 10–12 hours, you’ll complete 20 short sessions (about 3 minutes each) of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) supported with safe medications that help your brain respond more effectively.
Accelerated TMS protocols, including the ONE-Day TMS treatment while highly effective are considered out-of-network and not covered by insurance. They are currently available on a self-pay basis only.

At Psychiatric Care Florida, we’re excited to offer theta-burst TMS, a modern way to deliver the same gentle, noninvasive brain stimulation as standard TMS—only in shorter, smarter bursts.
Instead of a long, steady stream of pulses (the classic rTMS you may have heard about), theta-burst uses tiny clusters that echo the brain’s natural learning rhythm. The most common version, iTBS, takes just about 3 minutes per session and aims to “strengthen” the mood network; traditional rTMS sessions are typically 20–40 minutes and use continuous pulses to achieve similar benefits. Think of it as two paths to the same place: rTMS is the steady walk; iTBS is the quick, efficient jog.
For patients seeking a rapid reset, accelerated theta-burst protocols—such as ONE-Day TMS or SAINT—condense many short iTBS sessions into a single day or several days. While highly promising, these accelerated options are not covered by insurance and are available on a self-pay basis. (Standard, non-accelerated TMS is often covered by many plans.)
Please contact our office to discuss which approach fits your goals, review pricing and payment options, and map out a plan that feels right for you. Call us at (561) 336-4790.
Although TMS is more known for treatment of depression there is also room for TMS in OCD. It is an FDA-cleared treatment that targets the brain network involved in obsessions and compulsions.
Each visit has two simple parts: a few minutes of personalized “symptom priming” (we briefly review triggers to gently activate the OCD circuit), followed by focused magnetic stimulation over the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex. Sessions typically last about 20–30 minutes, are comfortable, and are done five days a week for several weeks, often followed by a brief taper or maintenance plan tailored to you.
Coverage for OCD TMS varies by insurance, and we’ll verify your benefits and discuss self-pay options when needed before the start of your treatment. To see whether OCD TMS could fit your care plan, and to review pricing and scheduling give us a call at (561) 336-4790.
